I agree with what you said Jay. But the mountain that needs to be removed is ones own unbelief, so that faith can rise up and proceed to bring what you are asking for in faith come to pass.
Which is why if you have a little faith at all you can speak to the mountain of unbelief to be removed. And if not, then fast and pray for both to be restored.
At least that is what I read Jesus as saying in Mt. 17:20-21 mainly. Not sure if that is what your saying as ell or not.
Although did see some reasons why one would be walking in unbelief in the first place possibly, which is true. Even though we may not realize it is happening. Because any sin will prevent our prayers from being heard often as a result because of the said sin causing unbelief in our own heart. But it is still unbelief that is the mountain, no matter what brings it about, one does not reacieve wouldn't you say?
Also, there is a lot more to what Jesus said there than often meets the eye to use when praying for others also. As well as many clues on this issue written in many other scriptures too.
But it is unbelief in what the Word says, that causes one to walk in unforgivness as well, once one is born again too, their not desiring to do so at all, according to what is written about this issue in John chapter 15.
For example the sin of unfogiveness to one not abiding in Christ takes place just as is described in John 15:
6: If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Notice it is not god casting that one into the fire, but men instead. meaning these fires are the fires of affliction that comes to everyone from other men at times no matter who we are. Yet reading on, it says who it is that can even overcome this when it does happen as well, written in the following verses there:
7: If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.
In other words, the one that does abide in Him and His Word abides in them, thus walking in the light that John also wrote about in 1st John chapter 1, can also do what it says in 1st John 1:7-10, and be delivered from walking in any unforgiveness from that time forth by the Lord, because of where that one does dwell. And even ask the Lord to fill them up to overflowing with His love so that they actually love those that might be bringing those fires of affliction on them as well, if one does know what does belong to them after all. Not being ignorant of what the cross has actually provided that one after all. But of course, if one does not abide in Him, they evidently are unable to overcome in this area according to John 15:6 unfortunately.
And we also need to know what the Word does say about these issues too, according to what it does say in Hos. 4:6 which says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected knowledge I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me, seeing thou hast forgotten the law of they God,, I will also forget they children.
That is really heavy. Especially the children part. My wondering why the children, the Lord telling me that everything reproduces after its own kind. And I suppose if we do not know the way to be victorious over sins ourselves, possibly our children will not be victorious either, that is if they listen to what we are teaching them. Which is why I tell people to seek Christ first about everything they do believe. Because he knows the truth, whether I always do or not. But I also find doing so myself, has brought victory for me, so I know it will for others if they do also. As first of all, God is no respecter of persons as John said earlier. And thank God He isn't for the likes of me for sure.
So we may be saying the same thing of course, but just felt led to share what God taught my husband and I about that verse years ago. There is more, as I am sure you also know too. But not for now as it is in the middle of the night. And I need to get back to bed.
We finally got our snow storm last night and today. Thank God it is snow though and not ice like we had last year. supposed to get some more Wednesday. The snow stayed this time because it is cold right now too.
Luv In Christ

Let no man deceive himself, if any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishenss with God, for it is written, HE TAKETH THE WISE IN THEIR OWN CRAFTINESS. (1st Cor. 3:18-19)
