Well...even with the rain all morning, between the Hiking Michigan people and the Michigan Adventurers about 30 people showed up to have a great and dry Hike at Holly this last Sunday, 8/23/09. What a great mix of so many people that actually did'nt much know one another. That just NEVER seems to matter though. We all had a wonderful time together. We pretty much had the trails around the Lakes to ourselves. probably more Boaters in the Park then people on foot. But that was fine with everyone. The Park Rangers stopped by before the Hike to say Hello and ask if we needed anything. That is just another Cool thing about Holly Rec. Area. All the Rangers there are just a little different then most of the other State Parks. They actually care about the people that are visiting thjeir Park. Only a few other Parks in the S.E.MI. area where the Rangers are that way.
We will be doing a nice MI. Adventurers group review in our next NewsLetter. So look for that. They take their Hikes to the next level then what we do here at H.M. by doing overnighters, Backpacking, ect. It's great to have different groups taking care of all the various outdoor opportunities there are to offer. So get Outdoors.
