The perfect evening and Campfire weather! We hiked around the Lakeshore Trail at Holly Rec. Area until after dark and had a grand time. We took our time and stopped a number of times. Popping some of the "Touch-me-Not" seedlings and discovering some huge "Corral" muchrooms. Back at the Campfire, many people brought various foods, deserts and treats, so the feast covered an entire Picnic table. Something truly for everyone. Holly park staff was kind and inviting as always and allowed us to have a great time around the Campfire until late in the evening. This is a big part on why Holly stands out from most of the other State Parks in S.E.MI., and why we keep comingt back here so often. Merrie from the Southfield Parks & Rec. was on hand for the hike, and Jonathan Schechter from the Oakland Press joined us for the Hike and Campfire while taking pictures and talking to many of the hikers. There will be a nice article in the Press in the next couple of weeks. It is always nice to have people of Merries and Jonathans outdoor knowledge on our Hikes. The full moon was extrordinarily bright and lit up the sky on our completely clear evening. We finished the night with cups of hot Tea and Marshmellows. These Campfires just get better and better all the time. Join us on the next one!
