On our two recent visits to the Seven Lake FENS, we were discussing the different kinds of FENS and all the unique life that happens in a FEN. In another large FEN area of the park, there is what is called a "Poor FEN". This kind of FEN is on higher ground yet still has the low PH flowing waters needed by most FENS to be a healthy FEN. I was digging through some of ,my pictures from explorations around the park and came across some Cool plants and rare flowers that also grow in FENS.
Anyone having pictures of Seven Lakes FEN life, please send them in and I will use them in a small booklet we are putting together about the FENS at Seven Lake State Park. We wanted to turn this over to the Park staff in hopes that trhey could use some of this information and basics on FENS to educate park visitors.
