OK, Polly, that's 50 pounds for you. On the other hand, I already know that you can do this, so you are excused from this exercise, if you wish. As for the rest of us:

If you are interested in participating, keep track of your grocery receipts for a week. Start Saturday and end next Friday. Shop as you normally do--the idea is to see how much we are spending, not how low can we go. (That's another challenge, LOL). If you normally stock up on what's on sale and eat from your pantry/freezer, that's OK, as long as you buy enough food that you COULD have eaten that much.

During the original grocery challenge, lo these many years ago, I fed my family of 4 adults on an average of $38 a week. Some weeks more, some weeks less, and I don't think I ever went much over $45. I loaded up on specials and ate from the pantry and freezer--just like I always do--but I challenged myself to buy enough meat for at least 7 dinners. Now we are 3 adults, and I don't really know how much we are spending...I'm guessing around $100 a week or less. And that includes my Skinny Cow addiction!

I'll start a thread next Saturday, and if you are interested, post what you spent...and what you spent it on.

BTW, I hope that reporter bought SOME paper products...I would hate to do without TP, LOL.
