I am planning to divide and move some daffodils. Well, I started dividing today. And I sliced into a couple of bulbs. Didn't cut any in half, or even cut off any of the bulb...just sliced into them. Does anyone know if these bulbs will be OK?
Same deal with hyacinths, although I only sliced into one.
Advice for anyone planning to dig up their bulbs: do it soon. My foliage is about gone, and I really should have done it a week ago--when I could still see what I was doing. I may go root around in there again tomorrow. I don't think I got 'em all. (I don't think I got anywhere near all of them, given the number of blooms I had this spring).
