I noticed in the Target Flyer not long ago- they are selling cell phones for big name companies with out contracts required... I have an older (2 year old) ATT cell phone... I can go to Target and buy a phone that won't make me have to renew my contract for 2 years, the way most of the places selling cell phones make you... worth noting...
