I used DH's multi-meter to test all of the batteries I've found. About 3/4 of them were still good. I'm giving the baddies to DS to take to Mountain Gear and recycle the next time he works (he still works there every other Saturday, mainly for the employee discount). DD has a habit of changing the batteries in her Wii remote whenever she has problems, and the used batts are EVERYWHERE. I probably won't have to buy AA batts for at least two years.
Like the linen closet, all of these batteries have been a roadblock to getting things put away. At the end of an organizing session, I would have a handful of batteries and no clue what to do with them. "A place for everything, and everything in its place" hahahahahaha.
