..I use raw cabbage, raw meat, and I've used both minute rice and regular rice. (I don't noticed a difference with either one.) Sometimes I add onion and pepper (both raw). Layer everything in the crockpot, add some paprika, and pour a can of condensed tomato soup with one can of water over the top. It cooks all day and is delish!!
I've also made it in my countertop oven when I've had to make a lot.
Hubby and I prefer it with saurkraut. The kids won't eat it no matter which way I cook it.
