I charred a roast beyond recognition and had that same problem, took a couple of days to clear out.
I did try boiling a pot of water and lemon juice on the stove top, washed the vent fan hood filters in the diswasher, wiped down nearby countertops and wall with cleaner, etc.
I think mainly it just takes time:)! Hope yours goes away soon!
