First off they are gonna try to confuse you with telling you how they ahve to convert it into "penny weights" then they may debate weather it really is the karat that it is marked.... I would take it to the PO and have it officially weighed out first. Also be prepared to take it to 2 or three differnt places...I got quotes from $320 up to the one I shose to sell it to- for $580 plus he threw in a garmin Nuvi GPS : ) The ones who jsut buy gold often are the "slickest".. the guy who I did the best with was a pawn shop broker.
