It's way more than that! - the cheapest TV commercial guys (and our plumber friend says they are about right) has "specials" for $1500 for whole house insulation (exterior walls). (that'd be for a "regular" 2 story house- mine is three stories)

I've got about 3900 square feet of exterior walls. because of the very solid criss-cross supports between my wall studs, our walls are a honeycomb. instead of poking a hole at the top of the wall and the stuff blowing all the way through to the bottom; you'd need to poke about 3000 holes and fill each 12" x 16" space seperately. It'd be cheaper to rip out the interior walls and use the pink stuff!

The ceilings also have pretty solid cross beaming that would prevent blowing in.
