Response to September, what have you got going on?

School started last week - so tons of papers and getting back into homework mode. the two big ones are latchkey kids now. so at least clean dishes get put away and laundry's started by the time i get home with the little one.

boy scouts went all summer and is DH's domain. Girl Scouts starts tonight, which after 6 years I finally broke and am working on being a n assistant leader. Choir for the bigs starts next week, and both bigs are cantoring so there will be practice for that too. still no word if there will be a cub scout pack, i'll likely end up the little's den mother if there is. (or carting him to the next town if there isn't)

this weekend has 4 functions, the next weekend has 2, i spend 09-16--09-22 in Chicago for work training, dh has three weekend things for work, including the weekend I'm camping with DD for girl scouts, not sure what we're doing with our sons! DS is supposed to have a campout and one merit badge day. throw in the three fundraisers that're coming home from school this week, meet the teacher night, school dance and "back to school bash" and it's a crazy month. (note to self - kids need haircuts this weekend for school pics next week)

Probably going to the Bloomsburg Fair on Sunday 09-23 - i took off that monday - but this year the kids don't have an inservice day that day. I'm contemplating letting them skip school for the fair - but 5th and 7th grades... missing a day is just too much make up work.

oh and tonight meeting with the concrete guy to sign contracts, hopefully that will start before the end of the month too (porch guy is backed up, but i'm certain that will be done before it snows.)

Somone remind me I need to harvest my leeks!

Luckily October is only half as booked.

OH and to top it all off - my 10 yo son decided to move his bed and clean up his room. which to him meant dump out every storage container full of toys/junk into one huge pile and sort it. He didn't realize that the last time we did that a)he had ALOT less stuff and b) it took dh and I 10 hours to do. (20 man hours). the kid feels so so terrible about it though - that he actually DID spend 30 minutes on it yesterday after school AND threw some stuff out!! both are huge leaps forward in our world!
