Blech. Dog smell is one big reason why I'm not a dog lover. A woman in our playgroup when ds was a baby had three large standard schnauzers and her whole house and van smelled strongly of dog. They were very well behaved, just stank. After a couple of playdates there I always tried to meet somewhere else. Even if you live there and get used to the smell, after you leave the house and then come back surely you would notice. I don't know if some dogs naturally smell stronger or need to be bathed more or what.

Well-behaved dogs that don't smell don't bother me.

When we have overnight guests we tell them to keep their bedroom door closed all the time unless they're prepared to fish out one or both cats when they're ready for bed. One of our cats thinks guests are a novel treat provided just for her own amusement, so you probably wouldn't get along with her too well. lol
