The article didn't mention one thing about prep, which is probably the most important step. Having painted over varnished cabinets--even with sanding and primer--I would never do it again, because it hasn't held up well. The paint tends to chip. Also, she painted the appliances with Rust-o-leum. I was always told that you needed a special appliance paint, and it wouldn't work on the range top, because of the heat. I wish some of this had been mentioned in this article. However, I have to say the pictures were certainly impressive. What an improvement--in looks, anyway.
I question it too. I can see wall paint being cheap. I have purchased the heat-resistant spray paint and it is over 7 bucks a can. She had to use a lot of cans to paint what she painted. That spray paint is going to peel after a few oven/stove uses.
I don't see how she purchused acrylic for cheap either, it is pricey! I think someone is fibbing or she had this stuff in her cellar.
