Where should I put an outdoor thermometer to be the most accurate?June 14 2012 at 10:18 AM | Maxine (Premier Login MaxineS) Forum Owner |
| I have a replica of an old Coca-Cola red metal thermometer. I want it on my front porch. The porch faces north. However, there is a post where it could have a N, S, E, or W exposure. I'm thinking east? But if someone knows, please enlighten me. Thanks. |

so long as it's in the shade all the time.
Ours faces almost North but it never sees sun ( apart from at a distance!) |

because as with most things in my life I don't worry too much about it.LOL
Now that I've thought about it I can tell you I have one on my porch and it faces north but gets the west sun in the afternoons. And I have another under a tree in the back which also faces north. And the reason we don't really worry about how accurate it is, is because when its hot its hot and we usually just look at it and say wow its 100 degrees out. Don't really make it any hotter or cooler, just give us something to talk about.LOL |
