This is something I'm not particularly good at. Usually I don't have the right kind of glue, or any glue at all. Or the pieces don't fit right. Or something.
Recently I posted about using a friend's Super Glue to glue a plastic foot back on a waffle iron. So far, so good. The other day I used wood glue to glue a rung back into a chair at the cabin. I'm not there now, so I don't know how it is doing, but it seemed to be a good fix at the time. I also bought a small bottle of Gorilla Glue for future use. Small bottle, because something always happens to the bottle, and when I need it, it's all dried up and I have to go buy more.
What are your favorite fixes? (Besides duct tape, LOL--although we are all always open to new uses). Duct tape has been holding my garage door remote together for at least 7-8 years.

or ty-raps is what package says. If you look around our place they are everywhere!! There is even a piece of window screen zip tied to the front of the radiator of every vehicle to keep bugs out of it! Dh uses them for everything! We hardly ever use duct tape or glue!
Everything that needed glueing, fixing, holding in place or supporting was done with blu-tak - the universal fix it.
I did learn from it - I keep a blob stuck to the underside of the front door handle - to get transferred to the letter box which rattles like mad when it's windy
I use them for so many things:
tying vines to the trellis
tying to end of extension cords so they can be secured when coiled
tying to small appliance cords when stored in a drawer
strung through the hole on the end of broom so it will hang straight on the hook
I even tied up my t-shirt sleeves the other day
The road to success is always under construction.
