TRAFFIC TROUBLES !!!

is anyone having problems with traffic passing you whilst leading or riding your horse/pony?

i am trying to get my daughters pony road worthy again after several months off due to her being lazy!! lol (kids eh)

we are on the road leading to burley from ringwood, there has been more than a handfull of road works which has pushed the traffic passed us,

it seems to me in a frustration of i can't get where i want fast i have to faster to make up ground!

we have a single track onto a normal country road they are taking that at 40 the normal road tends to be faster!

and the 30 seconds it takes extra to go passed me slowely is far to much for these meager soles to manage!

infact the burgandy bm reg s583llj who passed as at speed but throu 2 large deep puddles on the side of the road spooked her soo bad she was running backwards into the on comming said car and he still didn't slow down!!
although the light blue jag/rover new shape reg started with aw - i'm sure e next (looked like a private plate) passed as at 45+ she didn't spook (which she was hartly praised for!)

the damage it could do to me or the animal is not important to them it seems - mostly because they wouldn't get to see it as they would be long gone!!

is there anything we can do ?
if reported do the police do anything ?
or is it a my word his word?
has the bhs done anything as they were doing a survey?

i will look forward to reading your posts! x

Whilst out driving my pony last week there was someone coming towards us soo fast, when he saw us he slammed on his brake, which locked, screached down the road where he then stopped braking and carried on speeding passed. Luckily my pony on looked worried when the car started screaching but he could have caused a serious accident.

Does anyone know of a Red/Burgandy Peugeot 306 P or R reg i think, who it looked like knew the road very well so probab;y does it everynight, coming off A31 heading passed Andrews mare towards Emery Down, he also had a multi cloloured car seat in the back, luckily no child in it!

I was very angry, and wanted to report him to the police but he was going soo fast i didn't get his number plate.

....BMW drivers and little old ladies, nearly been run over by both.

...and someone who should know better! On the road on the horse who can be very spooky, coming towards us we meet a burgundy 4x4 towing an empty, very rattley horsebox, driven by a lady.

I put out hand to say stop, please slow down... but does she heck!!! I was furious!!

Thanks dear!

Driving to yard (Exbury) Monday morning, about 6.45am along the Ipers Bridge/Hilltop road, doing about 30/35 mph and was over taken at terrifying speed by a newish (02) dark VW Golf and as it pulled a few hundred yards ahead of me I saw a foal (belonging to Forester, your bright chestnut filly foal we saw the day it was born!) step into it's path. I felt physically sick as I saw the vehicle struggle to come to a dead stop inches from the foal - then as the foal passed out of its path off it sped again, clearly not even remotely having learnt a lesson! Wish I could have got his number properly - I'll know it if I see it again, had a small white For Sale notice in the rear window...

Thats awful, makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Why does nothing bad ever happen to these drivers, they seem to drive like maniacs and get away with it

I was out some point last week on luckily my bombproof pony - who you can drive a tank past and wouldn't look! anyway when i was coming back up the road to the field, i saw a lorry coming towards me with a caravan on behind and must of been doing about 50 at this point. I had a reflective tabard on (something i dont normal have on!!) but when he saw me he put his foot to the floor and flew past me!! - stupid thing is i know who it was!! so im thinking of leaving a little note on his windscreen!! - something to the effect of cars dent ..horses + riders die!!

Had i been on my forester she would of shot out in front of him and reared up!! and pony would probably be seriously injured as he wouldn't of been able to stop!!

I have seen to many dead ponies on the side of the road the past few week!! it is sickening!!!!
