I've received the following Email.....

Hi steve not sure if you are right one to inform about this but thought i should inform all woman (and men ) that on thurseday evening i was riding in longdown inclosure and i was riding back to lorry when this man came walking toward me with a black and white collie dog he then processed to undo his full length brown water proof coat and flash me. I have reported it to the police but thought i should bring this to people attention as this time it was me (and i can cope if a little shocked ) but next time it might be a younger person !!!!!

Descripton
He was about late thirtys to early fortys about 5.7 and white with brown really short hair and had a collie dog he worn a long brown coat and brown boots and not much else.

Yuk!! My teenage daughter rides up there a lot on her own so shall warn her. Do you think warning should be posted on chat room as that seems to be looked at more.

Saw him in Minstead a few years ago!

Just laugh at him it will make him feel small!! (excuse the pun!!!)

On a more serious note it isnt nice at all - hopefully a warning from the police again should warn him off again for a while.

This was 7 years ago now - was with my friend claire - he wears a long coat and has a collie - think he is a tramp. Theres been a tramp living around here for years.

I know it's not funny but it's unusual that she was able to give a good description of his face! Last year we had a nutter round here who was walking the Pennine Way totally in the nude apart from a pair of walking boots. Very few of the women who saw him knew what his face was like (!!!)
Incidentally it depended on what town he got to as to whether the police carted him off or not - some forces weren't that bothered!

Longdown Inclosure Flasher

Hi i am the person who saw the flasher iwas riding towards him when he did the act i got a good look at his face because i had seen him earlier on my ride as well back near the horse box

i only told the horse watch people about this as i this time it was me next time it could be a 11 or 12 year old girl i would not have forgiven myself if i had not and this happens to some so i reported what i had seen it was very scary

Had i known some one would question how i had seen him then i may not have said anything i can know laugh about it

so i hope this clears up how i had got a clear description of him !!!!

Paprika - I wasn't for a minute making fun of you, it was simply a light hearted comment.Of course it was absolutely the right thing to do to pass on information to make people aware when there is a pervert around. As you say us older ones can perhaps take these things more in our stride that younger kids but even so it's always worrying as you wonder whether flashing is one step away from them moving onto something more serious. I tried to quantify my comment by being lighthearted about the Pennine Way nudist we had up here in Yorkshire - personally If I had seen him I would not have joked with him but a couple of people I spoke to who saw him genuinely couldn't have given you a good description of his face!!
