R B Tournament
by Chuck BartonI just had to take a minute and talk about the tournament on Saturday. No we did not finish first, but that does not begin to reflect what happened at the tournament.
A large number of our wrestlers had never wrestled a varsity match before, many are new to the sport, some showed up sick, but all showed up ready to wrestle.
Here are a few highlights:
First ever varsity wins...Vanderschaaf, Darlin, Switzler, Barton, Toolson, Cox, Winters!!!
Our veteran wrestlers Mahoney and Hoppe both added to their wins and helped lead the team.
Norman, Grisafe, Sandorf, Anderson, and Martin all battled hard. Each one of them gave it his all. Rader also helped support the team. It is worth noting that to make sure we had a full line-up, Sandorf and Anderson both wrestled up to 20 pounds above their weight at the varsity level and never backed down from anyone.
