Sorry & Proud @ the Same time.............

Parents/Fan & LCC Wrestlers, I'm sorry about what transpired in the semifinals at CIF Saturday. They used six mats for the semis (I have never seen semis done w/ more than 4 and usually it's 2-3 mats at a Varsity tournament).I told them right after they had sent out our 103,119, 125, 130, 135 at the same time, that we have three coaches and you can't send anymore than that. Well they kept it going 140, 145, 152.... At one time we had 5 on the mat with one on deck. We had Coach Williams & Ramirez on two mats Coach Jocelyn Peck (Our stat girl on one mat) & a wrestler coaching another one and myself on another one.

Now this is a good problem to have, but it shouldn't of happened at CIF. I felt like I was at a postseason wrestling tournament. Then rememebered it was CIF, I did my best to slow it down and got very frustrated in the process, because I know how hard our boys have worked and the support from the parents etc. and this was CIF!! No offense to our own Jocelyn Peck (#1 Stat Girl in CA), or Coach Elliott Dennis (who went to the table because the score was wrong and the ref wouldn't listen to him because he was a wrestler and if the score isn't corrected at the end of a period it stands), who would be a great coach someday), but you should of had a certified coach in the corner for the CIF Semifinals!

On the Positive:
However, all of you guys battled and did the best you could under the circumstances, wrestled hard for six minutes, and overcame adversity. You did the best you could do and that's all anyone can ask for. I'm proud of you guys, 13 placers(team record), 2nd in CIF,(4 Finalist), 2 Champs, 10 guys in the top 4, 3 Freshman placers too. I'm looking forward to the San Diego County Masters Championships!!
