I miss the statistics

by Capt. Hook

Haven't been able to get to the matches this year, but I acquired
a habit for visiting the forum almost daily to get my statistical
fix. I to had to go to the Valhalla site for rankings etc. I know we have
an excellent team this year and their records will show that if we
can update their statistics. Many thanks and Go Mavs.

My Team

by Remain Anonymous

I realized that we are LCC wrestling.
Yes, we have some of the best wrestlers,
Yes, our team mates place at 5 counties
Yes, we have an amazing coaching staff.
But other teams have that too.

I like what we have a little better

What we have is something you have to work hard for, you have to fight for, you have to want,
and thats brothers as team-mates.

It may seem banal or even just plain weird.
But these wrestlers, my team-mates, my brothers, make me actually want to wrestle.

Its a bit hard to explain and some of you may disagree, but you have to admit, its a very open environment.
And you get to know these people you roll around with a little more then you might know even some of your friends at school.

Some people until recently didnt have anywhere to particularly belong, or anything particularly special to do. They ate, slept, ate slept, ate slept.

Our team gave that person something to fight for, something to wake up to.

But it was brought to my attention the other day, that it doesnt matter if you win or lose at a tournament, unless you just give up (thats just lame), what matters is you are taking that saturday, or that friday and saturday, and giving it to your team.

I know I wrestle alot better when I feel my team is watching and supporting me.

This team makes me enjoy waking up now-a-days.

And if you dont agree, or dont feel this way, keep a lookout for this feeling.
Take a detour from the normal road of thinking
Because,
You Never Know What You'll See, Until You Open Your Eyes.

Thats all from me today, hope this inspired some of you.

Sincerly,
Someone

Wrestling provides one of the greatest challenges a young man can endure. It is very hard work, and those that you sweat with, those that you battle with, become the closests friends you ever will make, and makes wrestling that much greater.

Sleepless Nights. Then Again Who Needs Sleep?

The friendships developed are so important.
No matter the pain we go through, or anything else, we all manage to stick together.
Even if we are getting beaten by Poway horribly. We still went out there and fought.
Fought harder then i've seen us fight in awhile.
Fought harder then I thought we could have.

Our team is amazing.
Between the trust and the support, you find out how important the people next to you are.
Its given me a very different approach on life.
I dont take any dEtours ,if that makes any sense,in my matches.
And I Also Learned How To TRUST

I also thank the coaches for sticking with us regardless of anything.

Everybody knows that quality of wrestlers that compete at this tournament and our team definitely belongs here. No matter how you finished, you run with the best and because of it, you are the best. You guys bring the pressure and put knots in your opponents stomachs every time they see LCC. Use these moments to keep your focus in school and in life. Keep it up my friends!

LCC JV and Frosh Wrestlers at Mr Carmel

by LCC Varsity Parent

I wanted to mention how proud I was of the JV and Frosh wrestlers who wrestled against Mt. Carmel. It is very difficult to get out on that mat and wrestle with everyone watching, and even more difficult with a good team like Mt. Carmel. You should be proud of yourselves for getting out there and giving it your best. With each match whether you win or lose, you learn more. Sometimes you learn even more when you lose a match. A few years ago, LCC did not have a winning season but the wrestlers and Coaches kept at it and now we are being recognized for having a good program!

2004 season

by lcc fan

Don't forget in 2004 the LCC wrestling team were CIF CHAMPS-what a TEAM, all of them played a very important role to the team with their weight classes, wrestling ability, and GREAT LEADERSHIP. They had the 1st ever state champion- Ryan Williams 152 lbs- in the San Dieguito school district history and 2nd place runner up- Jeff May 189 lbs. No one had ever been in the state finals before that time from the San Dieguito school district and that year they had two. I belevie, correct me if I'm wrong that the LCC team even placed either 9th or 11th place at State that year. The LCC team has been quite strong for sometime now and had been because a great coaching staff and a path paved by wrestlers who put the footprints on the mat for others to follow.

lcc history

by wrestling fan

Congrats against Mt. carmel, however I do have to agree and say LCC has been one of the top wrestling schools in the county for somethime now, not just in the last two years. From 1997 (I beleive when the school 1st opened and Coach Feilds was head coach at the time)the wrestling program was on of the best in San Diego county. Just take a look at your records link on this site and go into school records, it's pretty impressive. It would just be nice if your football team/coaches would show some support in your wrestling program, it would benefit them quite a bit also. You have one of the best coaching staff in SD, if the kids put in the TIME, EFFORT, and HARD WORK in the wrestling room it will pay off and should do well.

Volunteer Needed

by Brian Asamoto

The updating of the LCC Wrestling website is done by a volunteer that is involved in many functions associated with LCC wrestling, including coaching the Diegueno middle school program. I am sure that if you asked the individual if he would like to turn the management of the web site to another volunteer, I'm sure that he would gladly accept the offer. This individual has been managing the web site for about 10 years now and I'm sure has other things to do besides updating the web site.

If you are volunteering, you can see me any Monday or Wednesday after the LCC practices and I'll take down your information and give it to the webmaster who I think will provide you with all the information you need to become the LCC Wrestling website guru.
