Today the students learned key words like conquistador and Timbuktu. Their home work assignment for next week is to find out about Timbuktu.

We covered some of the great inventions and discoveries of the time and learned about several explorer and conquitadors.

They are very excited about the next couple of weeks. (I won't be there!) We will be having a guest who will teach them proper courtly manner and dances and the role of the church in the 1500 and 1600s. Which ties in with both the Pocahantas lessons and the up coming World history lessons. Ask your children why courtly manners and Pocahantas go together.
