Makes sense to me. A lot of people feel that Johnny Depp should win this time because he has never won (whereas DDL has), but I don't think the Academy works that way. Or maybe they will. Who knows?
He has a great shot at it, especially if people accept his singing in addition on top of his reportedly excellent acting in the film. Many fans believe that he should get the award just for pulling off the singing.
I guess it will also depend on whether the Academy will accept the movie in the first place. We all know that they have a history of snubbing Tim Burton. |
