is anyone else not quite ready to make legitimate predictions for next year yet? i'm shocked that they already have predictions up, but i'm glad to see them so soon- guess they weren't kidding when they said "right away."

I'm fine with it while I think they left a couple off and after seeing it they have Public Enemies WAYYYY to high...American Gangster 2..people...AG 2 lol, I think its good to have predix up just so people who may follow only somewhat have an insight at what could be in contention next year. Obviously they know the predix wont stick like this haha if they do...thatd be weird...

I am thinking that Sherlock Holmes and Public Enemies will be more like good popcorn films, but I'm not sure if they are Oscar bait. That doesn't mean they won't be any good though.

you're right Anonymous- both "Public Enemies" and "Sherlock Holmes" will probably not be Oscar bait (at least i'm not looking at either of them in that light). However, they are both in at least my top 15 anticipated for 2009.

Is anyone else estatic to see Daniel Day Lewis dance and sing? I can't wait! I also think that 1939 is going to be a big Oscar contender next year too. Look for Julie Christie in the supporting race next year. Helen Mirren will be nominated next year also, I just can't figure out which film she will be back for. Maybe a double nominee for Love Ranch and The Last Station.
