I think that Changeling was majorly under rated this year and was a very good movie, at least better then The Reader and much better then Frost/Nixon. Also I feel Australia was over looked for what it was- these films never go the attention they deserved.

Three words, RACHEL GETTING MARRIED! How on earth was Debra Winger overlooked! She should have been there over Amy Adams.

Thank you poster above me. Rachel Getting Married was the best movie tied with WALL-E of 2009. Truly a fresh and wonderful movie experience.

I thought Rachel getting married was very good not great but Winger was amazing, my response to many should not be surprising...The Dark Knight, yes of course it got acclaim but not nearly as much as it should have...but if im going for a lesser movie I'd have to go with Che which was an absolute masterpiece in my eyes.

Amen to the OP.

Changeling was an amazing film! And yes, I liked it a lot more than The Reader and Frost/Nixon! Well said!

i love Changeling- i thought it was a better film than Button and The Reader and fairly close to measuring up to Frost/Nixon. going into this year, i was no anticipating this film at all, but once i saw it, i thought it was excellent; it's actually in my top 10.
also, Body of Lies is very underrated. i'm not calling it one of the best in 2008, but it is still a solid film. for me, Body of Lies is entertainment- which goes a long way if it's on the money.

What I really loved about Changeling was that is was a actors film to the highest degree. Every performance in the film was great. I would have loved to have seen John Malkovich replace Robert Downey Jr. Amy Ryan was also great in her small role.

Rachel getting married had 3 things going its way,Anne Hathatway,Rosmarie Dewitte and Debra Winger. As for the rest of the movie as a whole - it sucked. Was it about the wedding or the junkie sister?
My overlooked movie of the year has to be Let The Right One In - it was a Pan's Labyrinth of sorts and desrerved at least a foreign film nom.
Benicio Del toro should have been nominated instead of Bradd Pitt.
