I'm very upset about it, I love the book and I'm worried Tim Burton will ruin it. He seems the "obvious" choice to direct it, but I'm very anti Tim Burton, and I'm worried he will overdo it. Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter=disaster in my opinion. and the pic of him(dunno if it was artwork or what)is terrible I think, like hes gonna make an emo big fish type Alice in Wonderland. Apart from maybe Art Direction and Costumes I also have to say no.

Andrew, i must say, i fully support your feelings toward Tim Burton... Johnny Depp would make a very smart career choice if he broke away from him (and i am kind of hoping he does).

Yea, I'm sick of this Johnny Depp and people obsessing over him and Burton, like all these people I talk to are like "oh hes amazing, hes the best actor right now and such" and I would prolly just barely put him in my top 10. The guy could be great but he plays like 3 or 4 roles over and over...

another statement i agree with. while i am impressed by his acting, Sweeney Todd IS Capt Jack Sparrow and vice-versa. he plays this semi-drunk, speech slurring character. like i said before, as far as talent, i think he is right up in the top rank of working actors today, he just needs to stray away from Tim Burton for some time in order for us to see that ability at full force.
