I just realized I don't think I have heard anyone on this board mention this film as a possible contender...I'm not sure if it will actually come out this year but if it does I think we may have another contender on our hands, acclaimed director Walter Salles adapting an incredible famous book...just a thought...

Central Station is one of my favorite films and I have always believed that Fernanda Montenegro should have won in 1999 over Gwyneth Paltrow (although any of the four would have been a better choice than her.)  So I am very interested in this film.   But anything by Kerouac is pretty tough to adapt so we will see.  But I do think that it is pretty baity because On the Road was basically based on Kerouac's younger years so its semi autobiographical about the writers life.   Is anyone attached to the project yet?   Because I have a great casting choice for Sal Paradise.    Justin Theroux!!!!  Studio's will probably go with someone with more name power but hey you never know.

If this film gets moving I think it will be a big contender, probably next year though. Sam Riley was AMAZING in the effective and well done Ian Curtis biopic Control. Im glad to see he is doing some more roles because he really could be a big star with all that talent he has.
