So I finally had a chance to see Testament today after trying to watch the film for years.   In watching the film I have changed my mind on who should have won Best Actress in 1984.   While I loved Shirley McLaine in Terms of Endearment,  now after viewing the performances of all five women I feel that Jane Alexander should have won this hands down for her performance in Testament.   It is one of the most emotionally raw performances I have ever seen and had me enthralled the entire film.   I am curious what others feel about Alexander and this performance.  Am I alone on this thought? If you havn't seen the film I suggest everyone look for it, you won't be dissapointed.

Jane Alexander was excellent, but Streep was even better.
