I'm not sure if I ever asked this before, but in case I haven't...if you all could choose one figure to be given the biopic treatment, who would you choose?
Personally, I'd like to see a Bruce Springsteen biopic one day.
How about you?

I had heard there was a Jesse Owens bio in the works with Anthony Mackie in the lead role, a role I think he'd be perfect in. Could be interesting as it would have so many different topics it could explore; racism, the Olympics, and Hitler.

A biopic of President Andrew Jackson, Frederick Douglass, and Harriet Tubman is, IMO, most necessary. Of course, biopics of famous authors like Ernest Hemingway and John Steinbeck sound nice as well.

Hey Andrew....
i double your sentiments about a Douglas Reese biopic, yet i dont think he's so much of a douchebag as he is an *******.
Nonetheless....see the movie Amelia getting ripped apart by the critics so far??
Ripped like Joey Magidson's ******* after a Brokeback Mountain movie night.

Jackie Robinson, which is currently in the makings last time I checked.
Maybe some type of FDR/Winston Churchill/ Stalin biopic that focuses on all three leaders during WWII.
Jerry Garcia, which is also in the makings last time I checked.
Harriet Tubman- maybe there has been one I am unaware of, but I think this would be a great project.

That's great. Buckley's music is excellent, and I think they should get Franco to play him. He's already noted about being interested, and he is also a fan of the singer.

Florenz Ziegfeld, Ethel Merman, The Mamas and the Papas, Bob Marley, Jimmy Hendrix, The Beatles (i dont get how that hasn't been done yet.)
I read an article once that suggested a biopic of Sylvester with a woman playing him. I think that could be very interesting. The article's writer suggested Jennifer Hudson (i don't think she's popular on these boards but i personally love her)

There's a John Lennon flick that has been made about his childhood. That should be interesting. As for musician's I think Jimmy Page has led an interesting life. Playing skiffle on TV when he was just a kid, to becoming a rock god and having his penis molded by the Plaster Caster girls and then his involvment in the occult and buying Aliester Crowley's Mansion. You have a screenplay there.

1. Whoever is writing these tasteless and unfunny responses like the one above needs to stop. It's immature and I for one am shocked that Clayton and Joey have let this continue as long as it has. Back a few years ago when Johnny was running this site, this would have been nipped in the bud almost immediately.
And now my choices for a future biopic:
- John Belushi, ignoring that horrible film Wired starring Michael Chiklis, Belushi led the life of a rockstar, dying of a drug overdose at arguably the peak of his fame. He was also beloved by most everyone who knew him, and as such has been described as a life force, incredibly loveable and a man who could create humor in the most simple of situations. He was a film, music and television star, in a two year period he starred in the #1 television show, two monster hit films and made a chart topping record. Widely called a party animal by the general public. His life would be absolutely ripe for a biopic, one that would be funny, tragic and bittersweet.
- Gilda Radner, another SNL allumn who died far too soon, Gilda was a truly beloved and talented comedienne. She suffered an eating disorder, was married to huge stars of the comedy industry and was hillarious on television and broadway. It has often been remarked that despite her loveable nature, Gilda had a very sad side. It is rare that you find a female truly worthy of a biopic, especially one whose influence still affects many through Friends of Gilda. Radner's life holds the possibility of being a great film. (Reportedly HBO is working on something, but one never knows)
- Keeping on the SNL subject, the story of the show's creation is also a very interesting one, that could hold promise. It would feature tons of real life figures who played a part and great roles for whoever would come to play Lorne Michaels, Michael O'Donaghue and John Belushi among the countless others involved.

Tyler, there's a new forum up now, so the problem is going to be solved, since there aren't adequate moderation controls on this particular forum, so no worries anymore...
And good call on Belushi.
