does anyone else agree? i think sean penn won best actor for two films he should not have won, he should have number one been nominated for the richard nixon film he did , and he should have won for dead man walking, not for mystic river or milk, both great performances, but he won for the wrong films, micky rourke and or frank langella's performances were better then sean penn's last year, and in 2003 ben kinglsy and or bill murray should have won for best actor that year for the house of sand and fog, and murrary in lost in translation, what do you all think?

but he sure looked good...oozing from manliness with his rugged good looks and from what seem to be a nice package....
Like Janet Jackson said "he's got a nice package alright, guess i'm gonna have to ride it tonight"
And i'd ride that c.o.c.k.....ride it all night long...i lubed up my a.s.s.hole just for it
Hope he can prove to me what he showed me in Milk

I halfway agree with you. I do believe that Sean Penn should have won an Oscar for Dead Man Walking. That was a marvelous film and his performance really sold it. I also wouldn't have picked Penn for Best Actor in 2003 either (actually, I would have picked Johnny Depp, but that's a whole other conversation). But, I agree with Penn winning for Milk; it was a toss up between him and Rourke, but Penn really disappeared into that role and I thought he was terrific. So I do think Penn should be a two time Oscar winner, just not for exactly the two he has now.
Which, for me, is an interesting thought to ponder. If Penn won for Dead Man Walking instead of Mystic River, then Nicholas Cage would only be a two time Oscar nominee. And judging by his career at this point, might seem more justified.

yeah that makes sense, he was also good in 21 grams , but yeah he did get really into that role with harvey milk, but i think rourke did the role of a lifetime and should have won

Mickey Rourke did the role of "his" lifetime in the Wrestler. He had one of the greatest comebacks in history. Mickey Rourke's oscar campaign of 08 was an interesting one to follow and its easy to see why someone would be rooting for him.
He gave a tremendous performance but I feel because it was his comeback, and it was so surprising to see Mickey Rourke do such fine acting for the first time in 20 years, people were very dissapointed he did not walk away with the oscar.
They both deserved the Oscar in 08, but because Mickey had the "comeback story" which makes it understandable to see why people feel so passionately about this subject.
I have to admit up to oscar night i was wholeheartedly rooting for Sean Penn to win his second oscar, and I truly thought he deserved it. But for some odd reason i wasn't excited when he actually won it. I looked at mickey rourke in the crowd and I couldn't help but feel dissapointed.
Mickey Rourke winning the oscar would have been the perfect ending to such a comeback story.
