I have an old mod 317 on some of the older ones the 317 was plaaced on the back side of barrel, as you can see mine is placed on the bolt,IM not sure if the site is acurate with the mod numbers and dates, for by mod number this is a 1962 mod but iv seen ones with same date code with the 317 on back of barrel,iv only seen two like mines set up im trying to fig the value of mine, its all stock and works great,one other point i would mention is this rifle can fire more than once with out pumping,the presure is lower on second and third shot seem people modify them to shot once but its not a good idea it loses value by doing so.iv got pics so just email me to see them
