S&W 586 air gap fix ???

by orr john

Have any S&W 586 owners ever found a fix or a shim to reduce the gap between cylinder and frame leading to force cone and barrel??? I have actually blown pieces of paper away from the side of the gun when I fire from a rest . Shoots fine at 425 FPS but I was hoping for a better seal and maybe improved FPS as the wasted Co2 will be used in the barrel.- Thanks in advance.

Seem like what you are refering to is "the nature of the beast" with any revolver. If you are getting 425 fps I would not be concerned about it

scope mount

by

Anybody recommending a certain scope mount for the Benji 347(.177), I have the four piece that clamps to the barrel on a 342(.22).It looks to me like the two holes on the right side would be too close together for a solid strong mount. Apprecite help.

WOW! Only $5:00 for six shooting events.

From: The webmaster Thank You: Robert Schattler schattler@citlink.net

Web Sight: http://www.citlink.net/~schattler/

Outdoor rifle; Dale Kaiser 7---6---6---8--=27 using a CRX in .177 MW

Bob Corcorran 7---8---4---6--= 25 with a Styer SG100 .177

Rada 2---7---3--5---=17 with a on loan Pro Target .177

John 2---1---1---2---=6 with a rx2 .20

There were zero pistol shooters outdoors.

But we did decide since there were enough rifles floating around we had a sporter class shoot and unlimited.

Above is unlimited.

This is sporter class; Bob Corcorran 8--5--4--7--=24 MW Tarantula in .177

-- Dale K. 8---5---4---7--=18 Harrier .177

John 6---4---2---0--= 12 RX2 .20

Then we did the indoor silhouette;

Open sights; Bob Corcorran 8---9---8---7--= 32 MW Walther LPH-1 .177

Rada 6---9---5---7--= 27 Drulov DU-10 Condor .177

Dale K. 6---7---3---7--= 20 Pardini K-58

John 8---4---6---1---= 19 IZH 46 M .177

Any sight. Rada 8---9---10---8---=35 Tau-7M MW .177

Bobby 9---9---8---8---= 34 Walther LPH-1 .177

John 8---5---7---6--=26 P-1 .20

Dale 8---4---4---7--= 23 Pardini k58 .177

5's and 10's are in bold and underlined.

There was no 10 meter match.

Newsletter;

We had another surprise this match. No pistol shooter for the outdoor shoot. It was all rifle shooters who wanted to shoot indoors with the pistols. We did shoot another category and that was sporter class. Seems like some of our shooters had enough toys behind the truck seat we had a go of it. Thanks to Bob I was able to embarrass myself with a Pro Target he loaned me. The main problem was it shot exactly where the crosshairs were, too bad the target moved too much. Dale is also a rare show for us and showed us how it is done with a rifle, hope to see more of you Dale.

As for the rest of the matches, they will be $5.00 for the rest of the year. That 5 will cover ALL categories you decide to shoot that day. Also there will be a swap meet starting about 1:00 in the airgun building. But not only for us this will be advertised in the newspaper so we hope to see some new faces. So bring some extra goodies to trade or sell and extra cash to buy. You know there cannot be enough toys in the closet to play with.

Hope to see you next month, the weather should be great.

Thanks

Rada

Today was a good turnout for our club. We had a new face Jim McCrank who shot couple of different Walther 100 and 101 pump pistols which we never seen at our club. He also did very well. Hope to see more of Jim and his good shooting. Bobby Corccoran also had a new pistol another pumper Walther LPM-1 and boy did he give it a workout. He shot the same pistol in all categories including the 10 meter course. Did rather well with it, seems like it fits him very well. I also had a new pistol the Aeron 101 Spider but my performance was far from stellar. But I had a mess of fun instead. The rifle course we passed on since there was only me and Bobby that brought rifles.
Here is an idea for you shooter. In SEPTEMBER we are going to try to have a swap meet. So bring anything you want to SELL or SWAP trade anything. You dont have to be a shooter just come out and bring some stuff.
Another announcement; next month and to the end of December we are going to change prices for entrees. It will be $7.00 for all the guns you wish to shoot. That means you can shoot for $7.00 six different categories.

Thanks
Rada

PS; five and ten in a row. Jim McCrank 2 x 10-pig
Rada 5-pig; 10-pig; 5-turk; 5-ram

SHASOW 1000 MOD

Re: SHASOW 1000 MOD

by Antonio

You can proceed as follows:

- Prepare a tool, wooden made, to extract the original Gamo piece. This tool must have one of its extremes similar to a diapason.

- Use this tool to press and push the Gamo muzzle out of the barrel. You normally need to hit the wooden tool with a fiber hammer since the piece is usually tighten. Never hit the barrel or the muzzle directly.

- If it is too tight and you can not get it off, you may heat the barrel slowly. Then the barrel will shrank a bit and you will be able to take off the piece you want. Do this very carefully, in general you will not damage your gun but you need to be patient.

I hope this helps.

Regards.

CO2 - O2 Question

by

Hey there,

I've bought a Crosman 1077 airgun a couple of years ago and I haven't used it for a while. The purchase of a firearm (Glock 22) was a decision to start collecting weapons and use my older ones again.

I was just wondering if I could replace the CO2 tanks
with ordinary O2 tanks (as used in breathing equipment) so it would cost me less in expenses.

Also, I would like to know what the pressure on
a 12 gram CO2 cilinder is.

Thanks in advance

Re: CO2 - O2 Question

by Peter

I don't think you can do that satisfactorily. Under pressure, CO2 liquefies, and although you are drawing gas off, the pressure in the cylinder remains constant as long as there is some liquid left. O2 does not behave in that manner, it does not liquify under pressure, and as you draw gas off, the pressure in the cylinder continually drops.

New to Air gunning.Where can I get a book on starting.

Hi.

I am new to Air Gunning, and a lot of the adverts I see don't make much sense because I don't understand the jargon. For instance...12 ft Lbs ? CO2 capsules. Under lever action, bolt action, What is best ?
Scopes..3-20+40 ? There must be a book that can start me off from scratch? Where do I find it?
Thanks in advance
