WEDNESDAY EVENING: A LETTER REPRINTED WITH PERMISSION FROM A BRITISH READER OF MY EURO COLUMN
Dear Joe,
The fact about Carbon Dioxide will now be stated so that an idiot can understand them:
1) Activity by mankind produces Carbon Dioxide.
2) The level of Carbon Dioxide produced by mankind, as a proportion of that in the atmosphere is approximately a quarter of one percent of all the Carbon dioxide produced.
3) Nitrogen and Oxygen make up 99% of the atmosphere (approx 78% Nitrogen and 21% oxygen). Carbon Dioxide makes up about 36 parts per million of the atmosphere. This means 0.000036 % of the atmosphere is Carbon Dioxide.
4) The level of Carbon Dioxide has apparently gone up by 35% since industrialization took place (the last 300 years).
5) Most of 4 is complete ( word deleted to protect the innocent, the author was using a term that is associated with the reason cows give off so much greenhouse gas, and is not suitable for the blog)
Read number 5 again! Yes, it is ( word deleted to protect the innocent) 300 years ago nobody could name most of the elements of the air, let alone break them down into blasted percentages.
Nobody knows how much Carbon Dioxide was kicking around, all they can do is theorise according to data they have analysed. Trouble is their analysis is probably based on flawed data. Since it is impossible to base the theory on scientific fact, their argument is flawed.
Also how can they accurately measure parts per million to such an incredibly precise measurement. You can't! There is nowhere on earth you can go that allows you to accurately measure such small amounts, as a fly passing will dramatically increase the result enough to slew it significantly.
I can remember the days when warm weather in the middle of the year was called Summer and cold weather at the end of the year was called Winter. I had cold winters in my childhood and warm ones as well! It is nature, it is natural. They are basing their argument on a partial observation from data that has not been compared to a long enough period of time.
How can I tell? We used to grow blasted oranges, out of doors, in England, check the tapestries if you do not believe me! So it was significantly warmer in Tudor times than it is today! In Victorian times there were occasions when the Thames froze so hard it was possible to have fairs on it, including roasting cows and pigs! So it was significantly colder in Victorian times.
One of the major reason for the increase in precipitation (whether as snow or as rain) in the last month has been the increased presence of dust in the atmosphere. This is mainly due to volcanic activity so fit a catalytic converter onto one of those damned things... In fact one summer was totally ruined because of increased volcanic activity, about 1810 I believe. So until they can be bothered to read and understand the science they try to regurgitate like seagulls, they ought to shut up!
Yours sympathetically, (name withheld here)
wow, sounds like he has some blood in him from the south of Europe as fired up as he is. Good to know there ae some people across the water that want to question "authority"
ciao for now ****
