Brunswick artist focuses on the cosmos

Canadian-born artist Christina Markin, who now calls Brunswick home, is showing her work about deep space in Fitzroy.
Christina Markin is set to open her The Distance Between show next month. But rather than Pollock or Kahlo, she has drawn inspiration from physicist Stephen Hawking and UFOs.
The Canadian-born artist said the inspiration for much of the photographic and drawing work was the outer reaches of the cosmos, which she often peered at from Royal Park.
"It's a place I walk around, and as you go for a long walk you daydream and let your mind wander," Markin said....
