Crafted 4,000 years ago, Peruvian necklace is oldest piece of gold workmanship in Americas

A necklace dating back more than 4,000 years has been found near Peru's Lake Titicaca - the oldest man-made gold object ever found in the Americas.
The necklace was made around 2100 BC, according to radiocarbon dating of nearby material.
Anthropologists discovered the necklace of beaded tubes next to an adult human skull in a burial pit at Jiskairumoko, a hamlet settled by hunter-gatherers from 3300 to 1500 BC....
