Prince epilepsy cured by an angel? Prince appeared on PBS Monday where he told Tavis Smiley his childhood epilepsy was in fact cured by an angel.
Prince said: "I've never spoken about this before, but I was born epileptic. I used to have seizures when I was young."
"My mother told me one day I walked into her and said mom I'm not going to be sick anymore, and she said 'why?' and I said; 'an angel told me so.'"
Prince says he doesn't remember telling his mother an angel cured him, but that's what she said Prince said when he was a boy.
Perhaps the most startling segment of the two-part chat is when Prince talks about his strained relationship with his father and how he secretly practiced piano when his dad was not home.
"I wasn't allowed to play it when he was there because I wasn't as good as him," Prince tells Smiley. "So when he left, I was determined to get as good as him."
