How can I motivate my students to revise and/ot improve revising habits?

Data collection: I'm a little fuzzy on how to gather numerical data. I definately can use surveys for attitude and perhaps ask the students if they know how to revise. I also will use reflection of student performance. I have already started collaborating with colleagues to get information on what they have found helpful. I will be using my critical incident paper as a summary of past observations in regards to student editing.
