My buring question is the following:

Is journaling an effective tool to use with students who have emotional and social needs?

I am trying to connect this question back to writing and started with the following:

How can I motivate students with social and emotional needs?

How are you going to define "effective?" Besides journals, what are you going to use to collect your data? What other viewpoints/perspectives are you going to include? Are you going to incorporate test scores somehow?
