Brandon covered a motionless Gunther, the referee had nothing else to do than to count to three and to Brandon it seemed like the longest three count on the universe.
Finally the ref's hand came down for the final time, the bell rang and the arena erupted into raucous applause. Brandon didn't feel as though he'd won and simply stood there watching as paramedics crowded the rampway and lifted Gunther onto a stretcher.
Doom now chose to come back out and slipped her hand round Brandon's waist, he put his arm round her and together they left the arena.
