TJ Trinidad willing to do gay love scenes

Medyo nagulat ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa pagiging daring ni TJ Trinidad dahil game pala siyang sumagot maging sa naughty questions. Kung titingnan ay mukhang tahimik at palaging seryoso si TJ, pero carry niya rin palang makipagbiruan ng medyo may kapilyuhan.

Sabi niya sa PEP, he doesn’t believe that he’s sexy kaya wala siyang balak mag-pose sa sexy magazines, like X-Ray, na nagpi-feature ng male stars in their skimpiest underwear.

“I'm not buffed. At saka mahiyain ako, e!” bulalas ni TJ, sabay flash ng isang wide smile.

But when PEP asked him kung kaya niyang tumanggap ng pelikula that would require him to be a bit more sexy and show some skin, affirmative ang sagot ng binata.

“I think I can do it, but it has to be e very good script,” sabi ni TJ, na kasama sa cast ng upcoming teen slasher flick from Regal Entertainment, ang Tiyanaks.

Nang tanungin siya ng PEP how far can he go ay sumagot siyang kaya niya ang matitinding love scenes, or even show his butt on the big screen.

“I think a butt shot is okay. Pero sabi ko nga, it would really depend on the script. It has to be integral to the story because I’m not gonna do it if it would just focus on that,” mariing sambit niya.

We pushed the topic even further. Paano kung maganda nga ang script but it requires a frontal shot, kakayanin niya pa rin ba ‘yon?

“Yeah, okey lang din siguro. Kung puwedeng dayain yung shot, dayain na lang. Pero kung hindi puwedeng dayain, I would do it,” game na game na sagot ni TJ.

A fan of well-made, critically-acclaimed films, napanood ni TJ ang 2005 gay cowboy drama na Brokeback Mountain at napabilib siya sa Oscar-nominated performances dito nina Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Sabi niya sa PEP, if he will be offered a gay role like that ay hindi niya ito tatanggihan. Kahit pa i-require siyang makipaghalikan at makipag-love scene with a fellow actor ay gagawin niya raw ito.

"Of course, I would be apprehensive at first, but I can do it,” sabi niya. "Okay lang yung makipag-kiss with a guy, okay lang din kahit may love scene. I’m an actor, it’s part of my job.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s a gay film as long as it’s a good project. Like yung Brokeback Mountain, it’s not just about lust or sex, it’s a very beautiful film,” dagdag pa ng aktor na ang katawan ay “carpeted” all over.

Pumasok sa showbiz si TJ via the action-drama series Basta’t Kasama Kita (2002) which starred Judy Ann Santos and Robin Padilla on ABS-CBN. Tapos ay naging regular siya sa Krystala (2004) at Gulong ng Palad (2005). He has a small role sa current primetime soap nina Claudine Barretto at Piolo Pascual na Walang Kapalit.

Sa big screen ay unang napanood si TJ sa Keka (2003), followed by I Will Survive (2004), Ai****e Imasu (2004), Shake, Rattle & Roll 8 (2006), and The Promise (2007).

After Tiyanaks, na ipalalabas sa July 4, TJ will be next seen sa Star Cinema movie na I Don’t Want You To Go starring Maricel Soriano and Aga Muhlach. He has a short role there as the brother of Aga.

At 31 years old, less than five pa lang daw ang nagiging girlfriends ni TJ. He prefers to keep his lovelife private, pero inamin niya sa PEP na may 25-year-old non-showbiz girl siyang karelasyon for over a year now.

oo nga, he is a good actor kaya carry nya kahit anong role. at pansin ko din na nag-uumapaw ang confidence nya as a real man kaya kahit daring gay love scenes kaya daw nyang gampanan! ganun pa man sana 'wag na lang...hehehe, di ko yata ma-take na makikipag kissing sya sa kapwa lalaki.kakalokang isipin! scary din kasi baka matyempuhan nya pang ka-eksena e talagang gay at pagsamantalahan pa sya!LOL! at kung ako yung non showbiz gf nya,i will do my best para pigilan ko sya to do that role and no daring & baring din, plis.. ok lang siguro na makipagkissing sya sa kapwa kong girls 'wag lang sa...ay,teka...sowi ha mejo na carried away yata si ako! opinyon lang po peace!

doon nga sa R____, eh yung action tv series na nasa pilot epi lang sya...nung watch ko yun, feeling ko na-tsansingan sya ng husto doon, panay hipo nung ka eksena nyang guy(?) sa kanya! ewww..so lalo pa kung gay love scenes yan - vomit to the max me! hay lalo akong ma sisisa nyan!
o plis tj, ipaubaya mo na lang ang role na ganyan sa mga closet gays para magkaproject naman sila! t'saka swak sa kanila yan!that role is not for you tj, baby!

i think he is just trying to be politically or socially correct kaya nag-ride on sya sa interview na ito. probably he just does not want to be tagged as "homophobic". but i really doubt if he will accept roles like that! but if for whatever reason he will...i'll still respect him 'coz im sure he is smart enough to do the right thing!

I agree with you lurker. I believe that as a true artist, TJ will weigh all things into consideration, the short term and most importantly the long term effect of his decision. And if ever he accepts such role, I hope that it will be directed by a high caliber and sensitive director who will create daring scenes with subtlety, decency and with a powerful message conveyed to the viewers.

And for whatever its worth, I also believe that there are a good number of stories/roles that can be portrayed that are not dwelling on sexuality issue. How about an autistic person, a split personality, etc., etc. There are so many good avenues to showcase one’s extra-ordinary dramatic ability.

but there are also good actors sa philippines who played gay roles and magagaling na dramatic and/or action actors sila...take Eddie Garcia for example. he is very versatile...he can be macho in one role, gay in the next role and womanizer in yet another role. yung movie na brokeback mountain..the actors there took on the role and the movie was a hit....if TJ
take on that kind of role, he is so secure in his sexuality that he will be able to do justice to it then bounce back and play a "Carding" role
again..........just my own opinion lang po.

nakupo! sana wala ngang ganyang tinutukoy na scenes...hindi ko maimagine. baka maiyak at matulala ako! not a good combination of emotions for me =). pero totoo nga ba na may non-showbiz GF si TJ? anybody here know kung sino? =) sana naman mabait si gf.
