Five months tumagal ang Zorro and from day one na umere iyo hanggang sa pagtatapos sa August 7, kasama ang karakter ni TJ Trinidad na si Ramon Pe-laez. Nagbigay ng kon-ting spoiler ang actor sa mang-yayari sa kanyang karak-ter at matutuwa ang mga taong nagalit sa kanya.

Roller-coaster ang description ni TJ sa role niya sa Zorro at hindi lang ang fight scene ang mahirap, but the whole process lalo na ang pagpalit-palit niya ng emotion. Physically draining daw ang maging bad, pero natsa-challenge siya, kaya gagawin pa rin in his future projects.

Nalulungkot din si TJ na matatapos na ang Zorro dahil masaya siya working with the cast. Pinuri nito si Richard Gutierrez na hands-on, very persistent with his work at pretty cool.

Hindi pa pala maka-kabalik sa ABS-CBN si TJ after Zorro at muling mag-hihintay ang fans nila ni Kristine Hermosa sa balik-tambalan nila dahil may kasunod nang project sa GMA-7 si TJ. Kasama siya sa cast ng Stairway to Heaven at gagampanan ang role ni Tristan.

Its not a kontrabida role, altho Im not very picky when it comes to role. Artist ako rito, I have to take up art classes, pero may konti na rin akong background sa painting. Its not my first time to be working with Dingdong (Dantes), Ive worked with him in Resiklo.

September 7 na ang airing ng STH, pero ayaw pa rin sabihin ni TJ kung sino ang gaganap sa role nina Jodi at Eunica. Ayaw ngang sabihin kung sino ang director, until we reminded him na nasulat nang si Bb. Joyce Bernal ang director ng Pinoy adaptation ng K-drama.

Aprubado sa Kapuso viewers na si Dingdong Dantes ang gaganap sa role ni Cholo sa Pinoy adaptation ng Stairway to Heaven at okey sa kanila si TJ Trinidad sa role na Tristan. Okey din sa kanila si Jean Garcia sa role ng ina nina Eunice at Tristan at magpapahirap kay Jodi.

Gusto rin nila si Bb. Joyce Bernal ang director ng Stairway to Heaven at ang hinihintay na lang i-announce ay kung sino ang gaganap sa role ng kontrabidang si Eunice.

Isyu lang sa Kapuso viewers ang pagkakapili kay Rhian Ramos bilang Jodi at kay Dode Cruz bilang headwriter dahil ayaw nilang maulit ang nangyari sa All About Eve na naiba ang istorya.

Bago mapanood si Jean sa Stairway to Heaven na September 7, pa ang airing, una siyang mapapanood sa bagong episode ng Dear Friend entitled Karibal. Synopsis:
Cholo and Jodi are childhood friends. Friendship turned into love for one another. But one tragedy change their lives.

After five years Cholo is now a successful president of their company but still caught in the memories of Jodi whom he thinks is dead. Cholo decided to forget Jodi but then he sees Jodi at the carousel and tries all possible ways to get her back and regain her love from Tristan. But Jodi has amnesia and doesn't remember anything. But later on she is able to bring back her memories and reunite with Cholo.

But Yunice and her mean mother Ms. Maita will make it difficult for Cholo and Jodi to be together again. And like any other love story they fight for their love and married. At that time Jodi was blind because of her eye cancer. Tristan who revealed the truth behind the disappearance of Jodi, is happy for her, but not fully because of Jodi's blindness. So Tristan decides to donate his eyes but the doctor sys that the donor must be dead so he gets into a car accident and is able to transfer his eyes to Jodi.

A very tragic story I guess because after her eye cancer it turned into a brain tumor and she's dying.

More Nang tanggapin ni Glaiza de Castro ang role na Gladys Andrada for 'Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin', she knew that she would be breaking out of her comfort zone.

What she didn't know was that she would also begin breaking the expectations of everybodybagging one of the lead roles in GMA-7's remake of 'Stairway to Heaven.'

On Monday (August 24), it was Glaiza's first day sa set ng Stairway to Heaven. Pero kahit ngayon pa lang siya nagsisimula, masasabi na niya that she is comfortable with her co-stars already.

"Nakapagworkshop kami," she explained. "Nag-run through kami ng ilang scenes from the script [ng first week]."

Kaya naman, for sure, may working chemistry na agad ang lead stars when they first appear on screen at the same time.

Hindi ikinaila ni Glaiza na kinabahan siya the first time she went to the workshop with Dingdong Dantes, Rhian Ramos and TJ Trinidad. She tells us na may pressure raw talaga for her to do well.

Kailangan ma-perfect ko 'to, kailangan maging maayos 'yung performance ko," ayon sa dalaga.

But she added, "nung nakasama ko sila, in a way, nawala din 'yung mga inhibitions ko."

Truly amazed, Glaiza shared na kahit daw considered big stars na ang mga co-stars niya sa Stairway to Heaven, open naman ang mga ito and they can take criticisms din.

"Although Dingdong na sila, si Rhian, si TJparang madaling nag-click 'yung workshop naming," sambit ng dalaga sabay dagdag na lahat ay nagpa-participate ng maayos.

Prior to the workshop pa lang, Glaiza has already started preparing for the role by starting to watch the original series. And buti na lang daw ginawa niya 'yun, kuwento niya sa amin.

"Although bata pa yung mga napanood ko, nakita ko doon 'yung pinagmulan nung character ni Eunice (the character she will portray), kung bakit siya ganyan," she explained.

"Nagkaroon talaga ako ng idea kung sino talaga si Eunice as a person," Glaiza added.

During the workshop kasi, ayon sa kanya, may process sila wherein they would have to become their characterand not the other way around.

"Hinihimay-himay namin 'yung characters ng bawat isa," she said. Ilan sa mga kailangan niyang maintindihan, Glaiza reveals to us, is kung sino ba talaga ang mahal ni Eunice? Bakit niya ba ginagawa ang mga ginagawa niya? At sino ba ang mas mahal niya."

Sa pagsimula ni Glaiza ng kanyang bagong show, what will this mean for her ongoing series na Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin?

"Hindi ko nga alam kung paano e," Glaiza replied.

Mawawala raw ang character niya sa finale week ng Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin, which is three weeks from now. Magkakaroon daw ng twist dahil na rin Stairway to Heaven.

Pero bago 'yun mangyari, may mga pagbabago rin daw na mangyayari kay Gladysna magsisimula this week - sa pagkawala ng isang character sa kanilang mga buhay.

Glaiza said, "it struck her, 'yung nakita niyang namatay si." No, we're not going to reveal who dies. You'll have to watch and find out. Glaiza continued, "hindi niya alam kung ano na 'yung mararamdaman niya, parang na-guilty rin siya in a way."

But will this lead to the long-awaited redemption of Glaiza's character sa Kung Aagawin? You'll have to wait til the third week of September to find out. Meanwhile, Stairway to Heaven begins early the same month.

Barely 19, Rhian is the very picture of confidence. She arrives for the interview wearing jeans and a basic black tank top, accessorized with only a plain vest and a scarf. Her long hair, still wet from the shower, is pulled up to a tight bun on top of her head, pulling off that effortlessly put-together look that only some can get away with.

Only three years into her showbiz career, Rhian has managed to bag lead roles on TV and on film. She starred in her own telenovela playing Lola, the female alter ego of a successful philandering executive. Shes done the sultry damsel-in-distress bit as Lolita in Zorro, and shes also rumored to play the lead in the latest big screen adaptation of Panday, the ultimate all-Filipino hero. On top of all these are numerous product endorsements banking on her name to drive their targets home.

Shes obviously used to being the center of attention but she doesnt have to work too hard for it. Off-screen, Rhian is about as natural as they can get. Extremely chatty, cracking jokes every now and then and peppering her sentences with like" and you know," she isnt very different from many young girls these days.

She waits patiently for everyone to set up around her, accustomed to staying in front of the camera and talking into it. She plays around her swivel chair, checking her appearance once in a while in the video monitor and talking up the cameraman whos fixing his shot. Even in such a sober environment, theres no denying the star quality thats made her one of the most sought-after young actresses this side of the archipelago.

She asks, Can I try putting my hair down? I just want to see if itll look better." Suddenly, just as fast as those brown curly strands fell from her head, knees went weak. She asks what we think of her hair down, even jokingly inquiring if it doesnt look like sh*t." Far from many of her peers goody-two-shoes image, Rhian isnt afraid to reveal a side to stars that few people get to see behind all those cookie-cutter roles we usually see them in, are independent, modern young women going for fame and the artista life many aspire for but few get to experience.

With only 10 minutes to spare before she goes back to her rigid taping schedule, Rhian answers the questions with a candidness that most would shy away from. Her answers reveal the youthfulness, maturity and vulnerability of a young woman whos had her share of the cutthroat world of Pinoy showbiz. She opens up about what she misses before fame set in, her fears of not staying long in the industry and losing the love of the public, as well as falling in love, being in a relationship and being a woman in her own right.

As an actress, she knows she wants to be at the top. As a young woman, shes smart enough to know that life may have other plans for her and she welcomes the surprises anyway.


Q: Can you tell us what you were like before showbiz?
R: Nope! Just kidding. Before showbiz, I was more of the tomboyish type like in school, most of my friends would be the guys. And I was very malikot. I like to run around a lot. But I dont have, like, any scars because I wouldnt go out. At all. I would just stay in my house.

Q: What kept you occupied? You were 15 right, when you entered showbiz?
R: I was 15 when I entered showbiz. Well, Ive pretty much tried every sport invented but I failed in all of them (laughs). The thing that I really like, until now, something that I keep doing, is swimming. So I would sort ofI had a fear kasi of tryouts, auditions, stuff like that. I just didnt wanna get embarrassed so I would do the sport I would run, track and field, I would do a little basketball, soccer but once the tryouts season comes, Im over. I hide na. No one knows where I am.

Q: So being athletic, would you say thats an influence of your family or of your friends?
R: Probably, coz nainggit lang ako sa sister ko coz shes part of the soccer team and I dont knowshes just so strong and macho and then Ialso yung pagiging adventurous ko, nakisali na dun which is why I like trying new things out.

Q: Speaking of new things, how is the role of Lolita different from all the roles youve portrayed in the past?
R: Well, shes from the past. She talks funnyWell, she horseback rides. No, it was a challenge for me because A: I had to learn how to move differently than I would usually move because these days, I think people are more casual with their movements. These days, you can touch your friend on the leg but siguro before, thats like a sin, you know? Oh my God, youll get pregnant! You know? Also, the way I talk I had to change it because instead of Ang kabayo ko" Ang aking kabayo," parang ganun? You have to switch it around a little. Shes alsowell siguro before, women played a different role in society. We were more dependent on the men. Shes kind of more dependent on Zorro. I mean, compared to my other damsel-in-distressy sort of roles. She, like the other girls would probably, like, try and fight back a little but Lolita would be more dependent on Zorro to come and save her.

Q: But despite those differences, do you identify with her in anyway?
R: Once my character, and this goes for all of them, once my character starts falling in love, I identify with them very well. Because siguro Im just a romantic. And I dunno, it puts theI think once you put love into the story or into the character, it really brings it to life. Its what makes the character real and not just something thats written.

Q: Have you ever been in love?
R: Oh yeah. Absolutely. The first time I was in love was in Grade 5. Like, your world is so small kasi when youre a kid that even if its probably not real love and you probably wont marry the person that youre in love with in Grade 5, it still feels pretty strong because youre focused on sobrang konting things lang so just you feeling like you think you love this person, its like, Waah! Im so in love!"

Q: So how is your concept of love different now?
R: Well, now I guess Im a big believer in how you cantyou know the line, You complete me?" Its kind of wrong for me although, sure I say Im a romantic now Im contradicting it, but I guess because I dont think that anyone else can complete you but yourself and thats when you start giving to other people, once youve completed yourself. Once you get yourself done with, thats when you can start giving to other people.

Q: Would you like to make this, acting, a lifelong career?
R: Well, there are two ways to answer that question. I want to but I have a feeling it might not happen because sometimes, this job, its not about yourself eh, its about everyone else. The job revolves around pleasing people. You have to entertain them. Its about the audience. Its not about you. Sure, people give importance to these celebrities and sometimes, we have to admit that we get big-headed sometimes. But its really not about the celebrity; its about the people watching. So even if I want to keep doing this because its what I love and I get to experience so many emotions that I wouldnt get to experience in real lifeeven if I want to, its still up to the people. Im only here for as long as youll have me. Parang ganun. -

Who's playing the lead actress in STH with tj?

rhian ramos - she is the lolita in zorro - very pretty, young (19 yrs old?)but she can act and can be convincing to be mature enough for tj. the other guy is dingdong dantes (i'm not a fan of his - but what the heck - i'll just sleep through his parts - and just wake up when it's tj's - lol!)

Why can't they just take kristine for the role? I just wanna watch both of them again.

that's everybody's wish but they are in separate network so we don't know the possibility of them teaming up again. hopefully after their commitments now, they'll be back in each other arms once more.
