Al,

Tony DePillo racing in his own sanctioning body may be considered a conflict of interest to you. But consider this fact: If I am not mistaken, Tony, Frank, and Jim all started NSCA because they were involved with the old NMCA as either racers or officials. Frank Sheffield was the Staging director for NMCA, and both Jim Sellers, and Tony DePillo raced in Pro Nostalgia. Hell, Patrick Budd, the NSCA tech director raced Outlaw Street, and I have read that he intends to do so again with his new car (maybe not as driver). When NMCA was purchased by Petersen, they changed their beloved heads up Pro Nostalgia into a 10.00 bracket class within Nostalgia Super Stock.

What were they to do? They had the funds and the will to start a new sanctioning body so that they and their friends may still have a place to race as they enjoyed to before the Petersen buyout. I think Tony is a fair guy, and I do not believe that either Tony, or the late Jim Sellers dominated Pro Nostalgia. I believe the Mancini's and the Pontiac's have. They are racers who had the drive to start a sanctioning body for everyone, so they should be commended and not criticized for taking part in the sport that they love. If Tony plays by the rules like everyone else...then why not? Who better to have running a sanctioning body than the racers themselves who love the sport?
