Several "Super" class racers I talk to say that increasing the rear tire air pressure can make the car go red because of the fact that the rear tires sidewall will not "wad" as much at the hit of the throttle (which speeds up car reaction time). This is true as long as the car still gets a good hook on the starting line. I would have to go with the car that hooks good going red more often than the car that spins going red. Of course other factors come into car reaction time too, like staging the same every time (very important!), front tire pressure, etc. Most veteran racers know you can change rollout with front tire pressure, although I have had some uniformed racers laugh at me in the lanes for checking the front tire pressure and changing it to avoid red lights over the years (especially before reaction timers). Of course those uniformed types never seem to be around in the finals. Wonder why? - Aaron
