I know I'm the guy trying to change the face of bracket racing but I don't have a problem with the first red light thing. My car runs in the lower half of my class (7.00-12.99). I would have to say I give a head start as much as I get one. I like when the odds tip to my side once in a while. Just for trivia I have never been in a dual red race. If the rule were to change I don't think I would have a problem though. I've worked pretty hard to build my car to where it is now and think it is a good thing that there is some benefit to my hard work. The only problem I do have is if this rather insignificant rule were to be changed, what would be next? A race is a race fair or not. Besides, in the example you gave if the rule was worst red loses, then the driver in the faster car would have had plenty of time to see the red light and bypass the box so the car left safe. It wouldn't take long to compensate for this scenario. Only close dials would be helped by this rule. My own car would need no changes for this. I could just step on the clutch and the car would stay still all day.
