Tom, D-E-E-E-E-P stage the thing. Don't just bump in a little deeper, you should try backing into the lights, stopping when the light comes on. That will take your rollout out of the equation. If that sort of staging isn't allowed, you might want to try spectating. In my limited pro-tree experience, that's the only solution I could find. Stay safe.
