I have no intention of making you mad, so don't take offense to any of this. First of all, Owen did not propose factory street. I did. NMCA took the ball after I proposed the class, and in my opinion; wrecked the class before it was ever even contested. My restrictive rules would have kept the class in check. Nobody would be running 9's. 10.70's maybe. The whole reason I wanted this class to go was because there is no need for another 9 second class. You already have options with Real Street, Hot Street, EZ Street, Limited Street etc. Petersen took away Top Stock (what we ran) when they bought NMCA. Factory Street was supposed to fill that gap left by T/S, hopefully bring some of those racers back, and maybe have a head up class that was a little more realistic. That is no longer the case. It evolved too fast, and now it's too far gone for me and many others to even consider running. I mean, you might as well run Real Street. It pays better, if you're gonna spend that kind of money to go that fast. As far as power adders...I don't know? That wasn't the original idea, but it's been out of my hands since I gave the idea to NMCA. My opinion really doesn't matter too much to them. They've made that clear to me.
I do agree that the schedule conflict has been nothing but bad for both organizations. The lack of consistency with rules, too many classes, too much $$$$ to compete, not enough money to win, bitchy racers, and many other factors all lead to the failure of street legal as a whole.
I'm getting to the point where I don't care anymore. In fact I apologize to everyone for even proposing Factory Street. I thought it would work, but it just added to the problems in Street legal racing. I myself going back to stock eliminator and bracket racing. I can afford to do that, and I know it will always be there. I just wanna race and have fun too Dave. Top Stock was so much fun to race. All you guys would have dug it!!
