Response to LIKE WE NEVER LOVED AT ALL ~INTRO~

Joanna emerged from Vince's make-shift office at the arena looking frazzled. Carlito, who agreed to wait for her, met up with her as soon as she came out.

"So how'd it go in there?" He asked, wrapping an arm around her shoulder & escorting her down the hallway.

"As well as can be expected I guess." Joanna said on a sigh. "It's always tough to tell your boss you are quitting."

"I can imagine." Carlito answered, squeezing her. "So when 's your last day?"

"Well Mr. McMahon and I looked over the schedule and saw that we are going back to Minnesota in about 2 weeks. He said that he'd like me to stay on until then, and just go home at the end of that night."

"That ain't too bad." Carlito replied.

"Yeah, that part isn't, but then there's the agreement I made with Mr. McMahon that I would tell the diva's of my departure myself." She answered.

"And the problem with that is?"

Joanna sighed again. "I don't know. I just hate goodbyes. I was really looking forward to slipping out of here, under the radar, you know?"

Carlito stopped and turned to face her. "Ain't gonna happen Baby Girl. Too many people around here have been too close to you not to say goodbye." He looked ahead of them down the hallway. "Especially him."

Joanna turned and saw Glenn talking to a caterer down the hallway while he poured himself some coffee. Carlito watched as she stood there looking nervous.

"You have told him you are leaving, haven't you?" He asked.

Joanna turned back to Carlito and shook her head. "No. We haven't spoke since the other night. He's tried to contact me on my cell phone, but I haven't been able to answer."

"You're going to have to tell him sooner or later." Carlito replied.

Joanna looked down the hall at Glenn again, who at this point was making his way to the lockerroom.

"I'm thinking later." She replied, managing a half smile.

Carlito laughed, kissing the side of her head and wrapping his arm around her again as they continued down the hallway.

-----------------------

The night, though it went smoothly, was plagued with a feeling of sadness as Joanna told her friends and divas that she was to be leaving them. There were alot of questions asked, mostly as to why she decided to quit a job she seemed to enjoy so much. Joanna simply answered that alot had happened in the last few months and she needed to be away from a situation that was proving unhealthy for her. Most people interpreted that as her issues with Chris Masters and fully understood the way she felt. Virtually no one asked her about Glenn, which was a relief for her since she was still trying to sort out the situation in her mind and didn't want to have to explain it to anyone else.

As the night ended, and Joanna was bent down packing up her things to leave, she felt a presence behind her. Turning slowly and standing upright, she came face to face with Trish Stratus, who had her arms crossed and an ever present smirk on her face.

"So, I hear you're leavng." Trish remarked snidely.

"Yes I am." Joanna replied.

Trish smiled. "Wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that old Glenno isn't interested in spending any more time with a tramp, would it?"

Joanna glared at her. "You had better not be calling me a tramp, bitch."

"Who else would I be referring to? From what I see there is only one tramp around here that cheated on her fiance with a married man. And that missy, would be you." Trish pointed a finger into Joanna's chest as she spoke.

Joanna grabbed Trish's finger and pushed it away. "I'm warning you!" She said angrily.

Trish shook her head. "You just don't get it do you? You're tired, you're washed up! None of the men around here want you. Least of all, him!"

Trish pointed behind Joanna and motioned for the person to come over to them. Joanna turned and watched Glenn walk towards them. Trish wrapped herself around his arm. "Now, Glenn. I'm glad you're here. I was just having a discussion with our dear Joanna here about how you are not interested in her anymore and that is why she is leaving us. That is the truth, don't you think?"

Joanna's eyes grew wide as she heard Trish tell Glenn she was leaving. Glenn's face took on a confused look that Trish immediately picked up on.

"Oh, wait...you're kidding me! You mean, Jo didn't tell you she was leaving us in 2 weeks?" Trish said, between giggles. She turned to Joanna. "You weren't just going to leave without saying anything to Glenn here, were you? My, my Joanna. Trampy and rude! Hmm..well I guess you have no choice but to tell him now, do you?"

Trish turned and walked away, extremely pleased with herself. Joanna attempted to go after her, but Glenn caught her arm and pulled her back. Joanna looked up at him and watched the still confused look on Glenn's face.

"Listen...I wanted to tell you. I just...well, I needed time. I wasn't sure how to say it." Joanna explained.

Glenn continued to watch her. The look of confusion turned slowly to a blank stare. Joanna waited for him to say something, but nothing came. Glenn sighed loudly and walked away from her, as silently as he came. Joanna watched him go, unable to find the words that may have stopped him. Once he was out of sight, Joanna pulled her cell phone out of her bag and made a call.

"Lita? Hey..do you mind if I bunk with you tonight? I'm having a pretty rough time and I don't feel like being alone."
