So good to meet you! As Kitten said, we are always glad to meet others deeply if not darkely obsessed with KANE!!! MUWAHAHAHAHA!! I'm so glad you decided to come out of Lurking Mode! We don't bite - well we might take a chunk out of the Big Red Monster if we got the chance!!! LOL
I'm so glad you posted the link to the phone interview last Saturday! I wasn't sure if I should post it ~ I didn't want to seem to be capitolizing on the tragedy or sensationalizing it in any way. With only a few responses to the initial post, I wasn't sure anyone would want to get into it again.
But, I have to say, I was once again taken aback by how considerate and sensitive to others this man is! He spoke his mind, reminding everyone that he was NOT representing the WWE, but his own thoughts. He echoed the exact words many of those I've talked with about this have stated regarding how utterly horrible the news media has conducted itself throughout the unfolding of this tragic event.
There's a line in "Waiting on the World to Change" that goes -
When you trust your television, what you get is what you got, 'cause when they own the information, oh they can bend it all they want. Blatantly, the news media has proven this to be true. I can NOT get over how they butchered Chris Irvine segment when he was on Nancy Grace's show! I had read the transcript, then saw the airing and was immediately appalled! I won't even begin to air my thoughts on those who came out of the woodworks to make this tragedy into their own soap box!
I admire Glenn for airing his views, the way he did it, and for doing it such a low-keyed manner. It goes to show just what kind of person this man is. And the talkshow hosts got it - they even commented on it, and that made my night!
The events that took place in the Benoit home were tragic. None of us are fit to comprehend the mindset in this instance - and given that, none of us are fit to judge any that were involved. Now - I know wrong is wrong, and something very wrong happened there, clearly. But it serves no good purpose to villify or dump on Chris Benoit now. No one here on earth can help him or his family now. And if there was someone out there who could have helped before it got to where it ended, they should have and most likely would have if they could. Shoulda-Coulda-Woulda - again it does no good now.
I just hope anyone who is going through anything in their lives that seems insurmountable - overwhelming and completely out of their realm of coping - would find someone to turn to, to confide in and get hope and help from. Please don't let things eat at you, beat you down until you make a very wrong turn.
Thanks again for coming out of Lurkin Mode, Pixi! I hope to read lots more of your thoughts, and that you feel free to share KANE with us!
