this Thanksgiving. . .
Now, everyone knows of Lord UnderTaker's punctuality, and though many of us wanted to wait a bit for KANE and Big V to come to the table, we were seated and set to start the feast promptly at six o'clock. I felt badly, having sent Big Vis to check on his playmate, Matt Striker, but not nearly as guilty as Naughty Nita looked as she twisted KANE's wine goblet about and cast furtive glances at his empty seat next to her. Apparently she had sent him on an errand that delayed him long enough for her to switch her seat so she would be next to him instead of Scorpion, who, up until now, had been enjoying KANE's attentions. A glance in Scorpion's direction relieved my fear of any discontent, as she was happily engaged in flirting with the Animal.
Another well-known fact is that 'Taker always has us set an extra plate for any wandering darke-soul that might drop in. This year, Edge was the drop-in guest, and that might not have been a problem save for the fact he brought Ms. Vickie with him. The gleam in 'Taker's emerald eyes let all know he anticipated some entertainment as we all filled our plates amid chatter of welcome and salutation, and he had not long to wait.
At precisely the moment 'Taker lifted his fork full of roasted potatoes and mutton to his lips, both KANE and Big Vis appeared at opposite ends of the dining hall. Each seemed quickly to assess the scene before them, and both behemoths made a mad dash for the only remaining seat at table right next to Naughty Nita. Edge threw back his head to roar with laughter as KANE did as baseball slide into Big V in an effort to take the seat first.
Only slightly stunned, Big V rolled to his stomach, unfortunately for KANE it was right on top of his own person. Even though he'd managed to roll over onto his belly before the mass of flesh covered him, it was still an embarrassing position for The Big Red Machine, and everyone knows he loses it when he's embarrassed.
With a mighty bellow of rage, and a great show of strength, KANE managed to get Vis off him and rushed to his feet, grabbing up the empty chair to use, er - offer to Vis, who was still attempting to get up.
KANE glared down at the thoroughly knocked out Vis, then around the table sheepishly at the rest of us, frowning as his eyes rested finally on his brother, who had the lower half of his face hidden in a blood red festive linen napkin. With a snap of his wrist, KANE unfolded the gold plated steel chair and took his place at table next to Naughty Nita, only to discover the only thing left for him to ladle onto his plate was . . . brussel sprouts.
